Trevor Porter Awarded Postdoctoral Fellowship

Trevor Porter, PhD candidate in DGES, has been awarded an Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowships from the University of Alberta!  The aim of the Fellowship is to attract scholars of superior research ability who have graduated within the last three years; the fellowships are not intended for people already well established in their discipline.

Chris Czerwinski, MSc student, wins Canadian Institute of Geomatics (Ottawa Branch) annual student award

Chris had the opportunity to present his research – Forest change detection and mapping in Gatineau Park, Québec, 1987 to 2010 using Landsat imagery– at the CIG (Ottawa Branch) Student Awards night held in February. 

Pascale Roy-Leveille wins best presentation award

Pascale Roy-Leveille, PhD Candidate,  won the best presentation award at the Ottawa Carleton Northern Research Symposium, for a presentation on the internal topography of drained thermokarst lake basins in Old crow Flats, Yukon.  The symposium was held at Ottawa Universty on Friday March 2nd, and will be taking place at Carleton next year.
