DGES Contributes to Carleton Community Engagement Initiative

Carleton hosted a Community Celebration event in the atrium of the new River Building on March 20, 2012, to acknowledge the community engagement initiatives of the University, and to foster the participation of faculty and students. Patricia Ballamingie and Steve Prashker were both recognized by Rebecca Aird, Environmental Stewardship Coordinator of the City of Ottawa, who was a panelist and speaker.

Specifically, Ms. Aird spoke of  the contributions of Geography and Environmental Studies students to projects such as the Children’s Garden, coordinated by Sustainable Living Ottawa East (SLOE) and of the potential for future collaborations with the department.
