Meaghan Kenney, DGES MA student, wins Awesome Award

Meaghan Kenny, MA student in DGES, recently won the July Awesome Ottawa Award  for her work with the Karen Community Farm Project.  The $1000 prize will go to support this “awesome” project.  Read more about the award and Meaghan’s involvement in the project here: http://awesomeottawa.ca/2012/07/karen-community-farm-project/

Meaghan hopes to complete her thesis, Exploring Immigrant Experiences of Urban Agriculture in Ottawa: From Food Security to Cultural Identity (supervised by Dr. Patricia Ballamingie), within the next few months.
